The Golfer Tiger Woods
By Don Brennan

Of course, all eyes, even non-golfers, will be on the re-debut of Tiger Woods in the Masters Tournament at the Augusta National Golf Club, Augusta, Georgia today. The speculation is rampant and all over the place, from those media types still bemoaning his marital problems to those wondering if Tiger can come back to his championship form after this long lay-off.
Well, I think I am with the majority of golfers and viewers, when I wish him well as he tees off today at 1:42 PM.
Tiger Woods is still at the apex of his golfing career, and I fully expect that Tiger will be shooting for yet another green jacket. Jack Nicklaus also expects that Tiger will be focused and play well at the Masters, and that Tiger still has his sights on besting Jack's 18 majors.
As Nicklaus said of Woods's 14 majors and his start at this Masters, "Why do you think he is here? He is here to play golf. That's what he is. He's a very good golfer."
Tiger Woods Return
Woods has done well in the past at Augusta and at St. Andrews and at Pebble Beach. So here you have three majors this year for Tiger to shoot at. Nicklaus went on to say. "I expect him to be focused, and you know, he's pretty good when he is focused. So I would say his chances are pretty good. If he doesn't, I'll still be very surprised".
So let's all say to
Tiger Woods on his return, "Welcome back. And we wish you well".
