Life of Tiger Woods
By Don Brennan

Do I like Tiger Woods, after the media romp through his extramarital affairs? Yes, I do. Do I care if Tiger is contrite enough, and apologized often enough to satisfy the public and his fellow players? Absolutely not.
I am reminded of former President Bill Clinton's extramarital activities with Monika Lewinsky, and the Media's obsessive coverage and speculation of every aspect. The people who were really hurt by this alleged affair were Hillary and Bill Clinton, themselves. Did they survive the media's intrusive speculation? Yes. Hillary went on to run for President of the United States and is now our Secretary of State, and Bill became an honored senior Statesman and Ambassador of good causes for the United States. In the end, they had to find a way to reconcile the pain and sorrow, and they did.
Now lets talk a little about Tiger Woods (with his wife). This scandal is also really a personal matter between him and his wife Elin Nordegren. Do I want to see them work through this? Absolutely. But they have to do this without the Media at their door and peeking through their curtains.
When is the last time you saw a man or woman, after an affair had become known in the work place, that they had to publicly apologize to each of his or her co-workers. My guess is never. I know, I can hear the Media's refrain, ‘We hold our public figures and celebrities to a higher standard'. I say, ‘Bull', we all know the reason.
Life of Tiger Woods is an asset to the game of golf and a phenomenal player. It is a joy to watch him play our beloved game of golf. So I say, welcome back, Tiger Woods, and I hope and pray that you and your wife can find a way back to happiness for both of you and your children.
